Day 4: Thankful for Music

Day 4:  Thankful for Music

On this Thanks Giving blog challenge, I am thinking about all of the many wonderful things for which I can give thanks. Today, I am feeling grateful for the presence of music in my life.

From childhood onward, our household was filled with music. Whether it was the current pop record or a family member learning a new instrument or simply the radio playing in the background, there was always a song in the air and discussions around musicians and bands.

That trend continues in my life today. After many attempts to master instruments, I have come to decide that I am best in the audience!  I enjoy many genres of music. My son, who is studying to be a percussionist, brings much new music to the house. And as of late, I am exploring Latin music, salsa-oriented in particicular. I find the rhythms to be energizing, and the melodies are often complex. Latin music provides great accompaniment for working out. And of course for dancing.

Today, I am thankful for the presence of music in my life.

Music is a great thing to be thankful for! I love to dance to anything with a good beat-- it goes back to my days as a dancer and dance instructor.

How nice you have a musician in the house. My appreciation for music grew as my son took up the trombone and now plays it for the Navy band.
