Day 2: Thankful for Coffee and Like-Minded Addicts
On this, the second day of the 12 days of Thanks Giving, I am feeling grateful for the existence of coffee.
I'm not one of those drink-it-all-day types of coffee people; however, if I don't get my first-thing-in-the-morning coffee, the day just does not feel right.
It is as much the process as the product. Pour the water, scoop the ground beans, brew. This signals that the day has indeed begun. And when the morning includes a gathering of people for a cup of coffee, there is an unspoken agreement that the coffee will be enjoyed as a community.
Today, I have a long drive and a big day ahead, so it calls for a careful brew in my French press to-go cup. Time to hit the road!
I am thankful for coffee, and like-minded addicts!

As someone who believes coffee is its own food group, Kathryn, I will join you in gratitude for this miracle drink.
Good morning Kathryn. This is pretty funny but I really get it. The little things.
I only do coffee early and only two cups. We get Community Coffee from Baton Rouge.
I had to laugh at this, but I do love my coffee, I actually have a headache if I do not get coffee for over 3 days. It is a weird headache too!
Kathryn- if you saw my coffeemaker then you would know that I am a part of your group. I love coffee.
Good morning, Kathy. It is an honor to have you in the group!
I agree it is a wonderful way to start the day and love the way the house smells with fresh brewed coffee.
