Juicy Gems can be Found at Paquette Farm in Shrewsbury MA
The New England harvest shines this time of year. The fresh produce is abundant.
I recently stopped into Paquette Farm stand in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, having been drawn in by their sign advertising peaches and green beans at very appealing prices. As I entered the building, I was struck by the appearance of the produce. Everything looked fresh, and the woman running the stand told me that they sort through their product and remove items that are bruised or otherwise imperfect. Any surplus is donated to the Worcester County Food Bank.
Along with the rainbow of green beans, yellow and red tomatoes, purple eggplant, and multi-colored squash, I discovered a tempting assortment of baked goods. The cooler of pies was the standout, though. Apparently, New England's own Pie Guy makes all of these tempting treats and delivers them to Paquette's nice and fresh.
Paquette Farm also takes holiday pie orders, and I understand that it is best to order early if you wish to obtain one of their pies for Thanksgiving.
In addition to produce and delicious baked goods, Paquette Farm conveniently offers a deli service with soup, salads, and Boar's Head meats, and their deli counter was crowded with customers who had stopped in to pick up lunch.
The peaches that I brought home were at exact ripeness. Sweet and juicy, I savored every one of them. The beans were firm, snappy, and brilliant in their color. I so look forward to enjoying more of the fall harvest offered by Paquette Farm of Shrewsbury.
