How Walkable is the Worcester Area? Walkability Scores for Towns in South-Central Worcester County
Walkability is a popular topic in real estate and lifestyle these days. For many, the ability to walk (or bike) to favorite shops, restaurants, and recreational sites is a huge consideration in selecting a place to live.
If you are considering a move to any of the towns in Worcester County, and walkability is important to you, then you will want to do your research.
The city of Worcester itself ranks quite high in walkability; however, the towns surrounding Worcester are quite suburban and have minimal areas in which to walk. Many of the outlying towns are downright rural; they are beautiful country towns with an abundance of natural resources but not designed for long strolls or self-propelled commuting.
To help you get started, I have compiled the walk scores of towns in South-Central Worcester County, along with some of the smaller cities in the county.
This list is based on the scores published on walkscore.com, a site that is important to visit if you are a high-walking individual. I hope this information is helpful to you as you begin to research the towns of Worcester County.
