Grab your suit and head to Worcester, MA, this weekend.
The 2017l Wootown Wakefest takes place from Friday, July 14
to Sunday, July 16 on Lake Quinsigamond.
What is the Wootown Wakefest? A water festival specifically dedicated to wakeboarding, wakeskating, and wakesurfing. This high-octane event gives novices and competitors alike the opportunity to play on the waters of Lake Quinsigamond.
Where is the Wootown Wakefest held? The festival is held at Regatta Point at Lake Quinsigamond State Park on the Worcester (west) side of the lake, near UMass Medical Center, on N Lake Ave.
The Wootown Wakefest event schedule can be found on this link. Briefly, the weekend looks like this:
Friday, July 14: Practice or learn to wakeboard/wakeskate or learn to flyboard
Saturday, July 15: Competition day, jet ski demos, and beverage tent
Sunday, July 16: Learn to wakesurf or flyboard, or just show your skills
You'll have the opportunity to meet some of the pros in the sport of wakeboarding throughout the weekend. (Photo ops for selfie addicts.) And don't forget the boats! There will be new Malibu and Axis boats to drool over.
Tickets are required for each day, so be sure to order ahead of time. The 2016 Wootown Wakefest was a huge success, and it is anticipated that this year will also draw a large crowd.
