Looking for a Trail in Sturbridge? Trek Sturbridge has a Perfect Guide
Today, February 19th, we had a glimmer of spring hope as the temperature nearly reached 60F degrees. My friends and I wanted to enjoy the recent deep snow by taking a hike in Sturbridge. I waved my fingers over my keyboard and discovered this downloadable trail guide from Trek Sturbridge, aka the Sturbridge Trails Committee.
Inside this 32-page guide, you will discover some of the history of many of the trails and natural resources in Sturbridge. Numerous trail maps are included, showing the color-coded trails within the many hiking areas in town. Also, new and upcoming projects are discussed, such as the soon-to-be-expanded Grand Trunk Rail Trail.
My friends and I explored the Leadmine Mountain Conservation area, near Old Sturbridge Village. We thoroughly enjoyed a 90-minute hike on trails that were well-marked and offered many opportunities to stop and enjoy the natural (beaver dams and brooks) and man-made (bridges and benches) highlights on the trail.
If you are in the Sturbridge area, I hope you will take a moment and explore the trail guide from Trek Sturbridge.
