Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this Month-Register on the Do Not Call List

Well, I had reblogged the following message to try to alert people; however, in investigating further it appears to be a hoax.  The FTC's web site has more information about this type of thing.

Of course, if you've not registered your personal cell phone on the National Do Not Call Registry, it is still a good thing to do.

Via Linda Lohman- Former Teacher/Broker (Fonville Morisey Realty):

Cell Phone Numbers GO Public this Month-

Register on the Do Not Call List

Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month-Register on the Do Not Call List

REMINDER.....  All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked.
You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON .. It takes about 20 seconds.

Thanks, Terrible when you think a buyer or seller is calling and it turns out to be a telemarketer!!

FYI I've been told by telemarketers that because my cell phone is advertised as my business phone, they are still allowed to call me and that the "no call list" is only for residential numbers.

You know what they say, if they don't stop calling keep them talking lol

Enjoy the day

Kathryn - I have heard of this a few years ago and it wasn't true. I just think it is a hoax.

Wow.  In looking into this further, it does appear to be a hoax.  Thank you, Robert, for the heads up.  For more info on this, go to the FTC's web site:

Very sorry, all for the alarm.
