Waterfront Living in Sturbridge, MA - Leadmine Pond

Waterfront Living in Sturbridge, MA - Leadmine Pond

Sturbridge has many small lakes and ponds that offer waterfront living opportunities.  In this article, I will introduce you to waterfront living on Leadmine Pond.

Leadmine Pond is located in the southern tip of Sturbridge, quite close to the Connecticut border.  Leadmine Pond is a very small body of water surrounded by residential property as well as wildlife management property.  It is a peaceful pond in a rustic, undeveloped area - perfect for the nature lover who wishes to avoid the larger, more noisy lakes in the area.

In addition to the pond, the Leadmine area offers walking trails for outdoor exploration.  Access to the pond is quite limited, and there is no public beach.

Leadmine is actually the site of a former mine where graphite was once mined.  The area is now under the protection of the Trustees of Reservations.

Opportunities for home ownership on Leadmine Pond are few and far between.  Recent waterfront sales average about $300,000 for approximately 1000 square feet of living space.

Short and sweet.  I love these posts about localities.  There appears to be a number of "waterfront" local posts this morning.

It must be the weather.

Thanks, Lenn.  We are having a fabulous spring weekend here, and the lakes are glittering like diamonds.
