National Learn to Row Day on Lake Quinsigamond - June 1, 2013
Saturday, June 1, 2013, is National Learn to Row Day.
Rowing clubs around the country will be celebrating National Learn to Row Day on June 1st. Worcester-area residents can participate and learn about this amazing sport by visiting the Quinsigamond Rowing Association (QRA) on Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury, MA. On June 1st, the QRA will provide an introduction to rowing technique, safe handling of boats, using the ergometer (rowing machine), and other important information related to rowing. Weather permitting, all participants will have the opportunity to row in an eight-person boat.
National Learn to Row Day is sponsored by US Rowing and Concept2, which support rowing for both competitive and recreational rowers. US Rowing is the governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States. Concept2 is the manufacturer of the leading indoor rowing machine used for training in the sport of rowing.

Time: Starts promptly at 7 am and ends at 10 am
Location: Donahue Rowing Center - 237 N. Quinsigamond Ave - Shrewsbury MA

What to Bring: Wear exercise clothing that is comfortable but close to the body.
Long hair should be tied back. Hats/caps and sunglasses recommended.
All participants must sign a liability waiver and confirm ability to swim. This event is for ages 18 and over.
