Pan Mass Challenge 2010 - Sturbridge MA
Sturbridge, MA - The weekend of August 6th, 2010, over 5000 bicycle riders in Massachusetts will participate in the 31st Annual Pan Mass Challenge. This banner fundraising event raises money for the care of cancer patients via the Jimmy Fund.
This year, cyclists from 34 states and 6 countries are participating in the Pan Mass Challenge. Riders have a choice of several routes, from a one-day 47-mile ride, to a two-day 192-mile ride. The long ride starts in Sturbridge and ends in Provincetown.
If you are in Sturbridgethis weekend, stop by the expo at the Sturbridge Host Hotel on Route 20 on Friday, August 6. And if you are an early riser, you can see the cyclists, including Senators John Kerry and Scott Brown, kick off their rides on Saturday morning, Aug. 7, from Sturbridge.
Below are photos of bicycle decorations that many of Sturbridge's businesses created in 2009 to welcome the Pan Mass riders. Enjoy the photos, and welcome Pan Mass Challenge!
